You can find internet business success stories all over the place online. You’ve heard them, they sound too good to be true or they are examples of people like Jeff Bezos of Amazon fame or some guy you’ve never heard of that made a million dollars in his first month online.
What I’d like to do is talk about some REAL success stories, not the one-offs or famous people. When we think about success we are really thinking about something that is attainable, right? So let’s talk about some real internet business success stories.
What Qualifies As Success?
So, first off, what qualifies as a success story? I think we all can agree that it means different things for different folks. Success can be earning your first $10 online or it could mean having your first $1,000 month.
Success for our purposes will simply mean earning money from and online business. BUT, we’re talking real success stories with real people and it must be verifiable. It must something that you or I can achieve if we applied the same knowledge and effort towards it.
Just so we understand, I’m not talking about making money with surveys, gambling, or any of this nonsense. We’re going to be looking at a real, down to earth, internet business that anyone can start.
The business model we’re going to look at is Affiliate Marketing (AM). This model is one that anyone can start with no prior experience and has a very low upfront investment. We’re talking less than $100 per month in expenses. This is something that most anyone (within reason) with a desire to start an online business can afford.
In addition, AM is growing at a rate of more than 10% annually. It’s a huge opportunity with the massive migration to online purchasing that’s been underway now for some time now.
A Look At Some Real Results
As you can see from the image below, we’ve got a wide variety of success stories. Everything from my first $100 day to a $30,000 sale from a seasoned veteran. These are just a few success stories from the community of online marketers that I am a part of.
Here is another list of internet business success stories, and the list goes on and on.
These are just a few real-life internet business success stories you can find within the ranks of successful marketers where I hang out. Some are more successful than others and some have been there for shorter periods of time and some for longer periods of time.
The bottom line is that these are people who started out with the same desire, the same mindset, and similar goals. They’ve been working hard towards their goals and their success stories prove that anyone from anywhere can achieve success in this business if they just put their minds to it and take action.
Why Some People Succeed And Some Fail
I’ve looked at this in detail over time as I see people join the ranks of successful marketers and others seemingly give up.
It really only boils down to a few things. The biggest one is simply “how bad do you want it”. Here is my list of traits that almost all successful internet business owners have in common.
- Strong work ethic – Being a self-starter and committed to getting it done.
- Determination – As in, nothing will stop me!
- Confidence – Having confidence that you CAN do it.
- Being Open-Minded – Having the ability to think outside the box and being open to different ideas.
- Passion – Being passionate about your business
I’ve seen people from nearly every walk of life, having these traits, building a successful business. In fact, I know someone who is building their business living in a home with no electricity (due to their remote location). Can you imagine that? They connect to the internet at work in their spare time and use WIFI hot spots to work their business. Now, that’s what I call having a strong work ethic and being determined.
Another thing that separates those who are successful vs those who fail is how they handle temporary setbacks. Let’s say your first idea for an affiliate website doesn’t pan out. If you look at that as a failure, as in terminal, you may quit right there on the spot. However, if you look at it as only a temporary setback, you’ll learn from it and move on.
Setbacks are temporary, they aren’t failures. Thomas Edison famously said, “I have not failed 10,000 times, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that wouldn’t work!”. If Thomas Edison had quit after testing the first, third, or 100th light bulb, I bet it would have been a much longer time before we enjoyed electric light bulbs and the benefits. He kept testing different elements in different configurations until he found what worked.
How bad did he want it? Pretty bad I would say. And his invention of the incandescent bulb led to longer work hours in the workplace, increased safety in the workplace and in the home, as candles and oil-based lamps were dangerous. It also helped pave the way for widespread power distribution.
How bad do you want it? Are you in it for the long haul?
Do You Want To Join The List Of Internet Business Success Stories?
Let’s ask a hypothetical question. What if you knew that there was no way you could fail? What would you do right now? Give that some thought. Do you think if you want success bad enough you’ll achieve it? I think so.
Learning how to create an affiliate marketing business is the easy part. The question is whether you will go out and apply what you’ve learned.
There is something called the Expectancy Theory This theory basically states that in order for you to be truly motivated to achieve a goal you need three things.
- Belief in the reward you’ll receive if your goal is achieved.
- Belief that you know how to achieve your goal.
- Belief that you have the ability to perform the actions required to achieve your goal.
If you have these things you will have what you need to succeed.
I can show you how to achieve your goal of building a successful online business. The ones posting those internet business success stories above learned how to do it over where I hang out online. Anyone can do it once they have the knowledge. The question is do you believe you can? Do you believe in the reward? And are you willing to what it takes to achieve your reward?
I don’t remember who said this, but I really like it. The quote is: “If you want to make a million dollars, surround yourself with millionaires.”. You can translate this directly to online marketing. If you want to build a successful online business, then surround yourself with people who are doing exactly that.
That’s what I love about the community I belong to. You are surrounding yourself with like-minded people who are doing the same thing you are. You have access to successful marketers from all walks of life and the support of those who want the same thing you do.
Closing Thoughts
You came here looking for internet business success stories. I have shown you some real, down to earth, honest to goodness, success stories. I have to believe that you were looking for these because you yourself desire the same thing. You want to know whether it’s something that you can achieve as well, right?
I know you’re tired of the same old rat race. Tired of not having enough and not being able to provide the kind of life you want for yourself and your family.
What if you could build your own internet business and live the life you desire? It’s possible if you want it bad enough. I’m not saying it will happen overnight, but it can happen with consistent effort and by applying what you learn.
Come check me out. Meet me where I hang out and I’ll greet you and show you around.
To Your Massive Success,
Michael

Good write up on what it takes to avoid shiny object syndrome and actually get something done for a change. I admit I struggle with SOS on a daily basis unfortunately. I’m trying to get it in check though. Like you, I also was involved in affiliate marketing years ago, made very little money and eventually gave up on it. I’m back at it though, about 10 years later and a WA member for the first time. I really like the support and community that is going on here. Hopefully I can stick it out this time, but I desperately need to. Thanks for the good read on success stories from internet businesses.

These success stories are really motivating and damn outright encouraging because if they can achieve it, I can too. Seriously, it is awesome to see people bagging these much results monthly and living the dream american life. As much as I would love to stuck to my job, it is just not paying off all the bills. These are great ones here and surely, persistency and consistency with lots of patience is what got them there and I will have to work more to be among them
Hi Rodarrick,
I’m glad you found the article inspiring. I am fully convinced anyone can be successful in this business. Never give up, keep taking massive action, and you’ll get there.
Wish you much success,
Michael
Right now my definition of success is making $1000 because that’s the amount I need to survive, if I make that I can quit my job and do this affiliate marketing thing full time. Then the next level is making enough to thrive, so something like $5000-$10,000.
But I have gone through many downfalls, this is my 3rd year and I have failed 2 times already. But like you said it’s just a temporary setback, I did learn a few things along my journey and it’s only a matter of time before it finally works out for me. Thanks for the article.
Hi there,
I would suggest finding a mentor if you haven’t already. Get some honest feedback on your site and content, and go from there. Drop me a line if I can be of assistance.
